Easter Egg Coloring

This was the first year that Chase has been old enough to get involved with coloring Easter eggs. I went shopping for something that I thought was both fun and "do-able" for us. I bought two egg coloring sets. One was the old fashioned pellets in water/vinegar to color the eggs, but also had a Sesame Street sticker kit to decorate the eggs with. The other set was something I had never seen before. It was a kit with little mini paint rollers that you rolled in the dye and then on the eggs. It was going to be a little dicey as Chase was already very cranky with a cold, but he still seemed interested in coloring eggs. We started off dying some eggs and then proceeded to the paint rollers. It was somewhat tricky as you had to hold the egg as you painted it, and it of course got sticky/slippery from the paint. I thought we were doing good until I looked down and saw Chase rolling the dye on the back of his hand and then all over his face. All I could picture was him going to his brother's baptism the next day with a smurf face. LOL! I was yelling "get him, get him, get him" to Dave to could grab the roller from Chase's hand. Luckily the we removed the dye quickly enough so it did not stain...unfortunately I cannot say the same for my fingers. :) Needless to say, we quickly moved on to decorating with stickers.
