Christmas brings so many parties and Dave and I took the opportunity for a festive night out at my work party. The evening started out rough as Chase was sick that day, but we left him in the loving care of his Aunt Judy and Dawn who took extra special care of him. We were glad we decided to go despite Chase's illness as the party was a blast. Good food, great music and the opportunity to get caught up with some friends. One party down, 3 to go.

'Cause the chicks dig it!
Chase is now wearing big boy clothes and is very much like goldilocks in that they are either too big in the waist, too long, too short, etc. He is truly testing my sewing abilities. I never took home ec. for a reason...I had no interest. I had to learn fast though as he tripped over his lengthy pants one day to get this beautiful shiner on his right cheek. I thought a nice soap mohawk might show it off nicely. What a tough guy! :)

Chase meets Santa

The day after we got back from Arizona we went to the Festival of Trees in Boise. Santa is always there in addition to some other fun characters. We decided to take Chase to see him. He didn't cry right off the bat like I had expected. Instead he just looked like he was in deep thought as to who this pudgy, red man was. As I began to back away so that we could get a picture, his lip started to quiver and I knew what was coming next. Hopefully he got in his order first.
Gobble, Gobble

Chase took his second ever airplane ride to Arizona to spend Thanksgiving with my family in Payson. My mom made the sweetest little room for him out of their laundry room. We all had a wonderful time. It truly was one of the best Thanksgivings I can remember. I think Chase especially enjoyed getting to spend time with his cousins. He just adores Jenna and Ryan!

Trick or Treat
For all intents and purposes, this was Chase's first Halloween. Last year, he was just a couple of weeks old and was very sick with a cold. :( This year, he had a blast. By day...we spent the afternoon at the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa. By night...Master Yoda appeared. He was not too happy to be Master Yoda at first, but once people had oood and ahhd over his costume, he began to warm up to it. We took him trick-or-treating at just a couple of neighbors houses, but he got the hang of things real quick. Look out next year! Hope all of our friends and family had a good Halloween!

Guess who's 1
That's right - it has been one year already. My how time flys! Chase had a great first birthday. Robyn took the day off of work to spend with him, and Dave joined them for the afternoon. Chase spent the morning opening and then playing with some of his presents. He loves to push "Bear" around on the Winnie the Pooh train. We then went to the park before it started to rain. Afternoon came and so did more presents. After that, we were off to get Chase his first haircut. He looks so grown up now with big boy hair. ;-) Finally, we returned home for some more presents and dinner. Wow...what a day! Robyn's birthday was two days later...a big one for her as well (but we won't talk about that). She took the afternoon off of work to have a little girl time shopping with her friend Marley and then the girls went to the spa for a massage and facial (thanks Stacy and Josh!). That evening we all went out to PF Changs for dinner. The following Sunday, Chase had his birthday party. Dawn made some beautiful cakes for him. He had a great time!

Super Big Gulp
Chase is growing up so fast. He is now learning to drink from a cup all on his own...no more bottles. I have to say it was very sad for me (as a mom) the first evening that I rocked him to sleep and he drank his "bottle" (now a cup) all on his own. At the same time, I was so proud that he took the transition like a champ. :-)
